La Famija Piemonteisa di Sydney

La "Famija Piemonteisa" o Famiglia Piemontese è un'associazione culturale (no-profit) nata con l'intento di creare un punto di ritrovo per i piemontesi dell'area di Sydney, per rivivere insieme le tradizioni, i colori, i sapori della bella regione Piemonte.
L'associazione La Famiglia Piemontese venne fondata nel 1976, nell'allora Apia Club di Leichardt, da Vittorio Capelletto ed altri corregionali che, vivendo a Sydney e dintorni, avevano un'idea, un sogno in comune: quello di poter diffondere anche in terra australiana l'amore per il Piemonte, la sua storia e le sue tradizioni.
A quel primo incontro parteciparono circa 200 piemontesi, alcuni dei quali si ritrovarono dopo oltre 40 anni di separazione!
Da allora si sono susseguiti tantissimi eventi: pic-nic, escursioni, balli, feste di Natale, pranzi e gite.
Tanti ritrovi, ricordi bellissimi, organizzati per mantenere vive le tradizioni tra coloro che nel corso degli anni si sono stabiliti nell'area di Sydney.
Sono passati tanti anni da quel primo incontro del 6 Ottobre 1976, ma ancora oggi il nostro intento è quello di riunirci, conservare gli usi e costumi che il Piemonte ci ha regalato, ed accogliere coloro che ogni anno giungono a Sydney dal Piemonte.
Ecco perché, come tutte le Famiglie che si rispettino, ti aspettiamo a braccia aperte, cosicché anche tu possa rivivere le tradizioni di casa tua direttamente da Sydney...insieme alla Famiglia Piemontese!
La "Famija Piemonteisa" or Famiglia Piemontese is a no-profit association, founded with the aim of creating a meeting point for all the Piedmonteses in the area of Sydney, in order to relive the traditions, the colors and the flavors of our beautiful Piedmont region.
The association La Famiglia Piemontese was established in 1976, in then-club Apia Club in Leichardt, by Vittorio Capelletto and others from his Region who, living in Sydney and surroundings, had an idea, a common dream: to spread even on Australian soil the love for Piedmont, its history and its traditions.
That first meeting was attended by about 200 Piedmonteses, some of which met each other after more than 40 years of separation!
Since then, many events have followed one another: picnics, excursions, dances, Christmas parties, lunches and trips.
Many meetings, wonderful memories, organized to keep alive the traditions of those who over the years have established themselves in the Sydney area.
Many years have passed since that first meeting on 6th October 1976, but still nowadays our objective is to convene, to preserve the habits and customs that Piedmont has given us, and welcome those who every year arrive in Sydney from Piedmont.
That's why, like all the Families worth of respect, we are waiting for you with open arms, so that you too could relive your home's traditions, directly in Sydney...along with La Famiglia Piemontese!
